About: The Glasscock Center awards up to three grants of $3,000 each annually in support of graduate research in the humanities. Applicants must have reached the stage in their respective programs where they are undertaking research toward the completion of a thesis or dissertation, but a prospectus need not be on file. Students will normally be doctoral candidates who have passed preliminary examinations, but advanced master's candidates will also be considered. Individuals may receive this award only once.
Recipients of this award are required to be in residence during the academic year they hold this fellowship and to take part in the activities of the Center. An office is provided for each recipient in the Center, and it is expected that this office will be occupied on a regular basis. Offices are supplied with a computer and printer access as well. Recipients of the award will be expected to meet informally with the Director on occasion. The stipend awarded under this program may be used to pay for tuition, it may be taken as salary, and it may fund normally reimbursable research expenses including the purchase of research materials (books, photocopies,etc.) and the support of research travel (transportation costs, lodging, meals, etc.). Please check with the financial aid office to confirm that your financial aid will not be affected by receipt of this or other awards.

About: The Cushing Memorial Library and Archives and The Melbern G. Glasscock Center for Humanities Research invite applications for the 2008 Cushing/Glasscock Graduate Award. This graduate research award, open to Texas A&M graduate students in good standing, supports projects in the humanities that are based in collections housed in the Cushing Memorial Library and Archives. Up to two awards of up to $2,000 each will be made.
Applications will be evaluated by a faculty committee and judged in part on their effective use of materials housed in Cushing. Recipients are expected to spend at least one month in residence at Cushing Library between June 1 and August 31, 2009 and must deliver a short presentation on their projects in the fall of 2009. A written copy of the project must be deposited in the Glasscock Center Library.
Eligibility: Open to all graduate students at Texas A&M University in good standing through August 2008.

About: Graduate Stipendiary Fellows receive a $1,000 research stipend that may be used to fund normally reimbursable research expenses, including the purchase of research materials (such as books, photocopies, and supplies), and the support of conference and research travel (such as transportation costs, registration fees, lodging, meals). Fellows are encouraged to participate in the intellectual life of the Center by attending symposia, lectures, and other events during the fellowship year.
Eligibility: Masters and doctoral students in good standing in affiliated departments and interdisciplinary programs who are undertaking work in the humanities are invited to apply.

Application: Applications will be judged on the basis of the applicant’s record and the quality of the proposal in pools of comparable degree candidates (M.A. students with M.A. students, Ph.D. students with Ph.D. students).

About: The Glasscock Center makes available grants of up to $1,000 for graduate students in affiliated departments and in interdisciplinary programs to travel to archives or to undertake field work to further thesis or dissertation research in the humanities.
Eligibility: Graduate students in affiliated departments are invited to apply.
Deadlines: 5:00 p.m., 15 April 2010
Application: Applications should describe the proposed archival or field work, explain why it is essential to the applicant’s project, and indicate how the proposed work will advance the thesis or dissertation toward completion.

About: Graduate students in affiliated departments and interdisciplinary programs may apply for grants to help support travel to conferences at which they will present scholarly papers on humanities topics. Up to 25 awards per academic year are made in the amount of $350 ($600 for overseas travel). Funds may be used retroactively to pay for travel to a conference that took place up to one year prior to the time of the award.
Eligibility: Masters and doctoral candidates in good standing with departments and interdisciplinary programs affiliated with the Glasscock Center are invited to apply.

About: Research Matching Grants supplement competitively awarded humanities research grants of up to $5,000 secured from sources external to Texas A&M University. The Glasscock Center will award grants of up to $1000.
